helge79. Thanks for your advice... but unfortunately I'm not very good with technical issues... I'm using AutoGnordianKnot for the ripping, with all default settings and I don't know if the program is able to do the rip in the way you suggest.
I'd appreciate very much if you downloaded the videos and gave your opinion about the quality of the ripping... Terayama deserves only the best ripping!!
Unfortunately, I don't think you can make good rips with AutoGK.
If you feel strongly about Terayama, and you have a bit of time (a few hours), you should learn to rip manually with DGIndex->AviSynth->VirtualDub. The workflow is very simple, and it gives you a complete control over what's going on:
1) You run DGIndex (DVD2AVI) on your VOB files, which will give you a d2v file.
2) You write a short AviSynth script (a few lines) with file extension .avs (this script will serve your d2v file to AviSynth/VirtualDub).
3) You load your script to VirtualDub and do a 2-pass XviD-encoding.
If you learn the general procedure, I'll tell you which AviSynth scripts to use for each movie. :mrgreen:
The point is that AutoGK is quite stupid, and if it incorrectly determines the type of inverse telecine / interlacing, the following terrible things happen:
1) On a film source, there will be more frames than there should be, with a large number of blended frames made from the actual frames of the original film.
2) On a video source, some frames will be skipped.
Unfortunately, I won't be able to download your rips (I'll be getting the DVDs), but, as I said, I can help you. I also think that Terayama deserves the best ripping.
Looking at the specs of your files off-hand, they look generally OK for me. As far as I remember, all the shorts in vol. 1 are film rather than video, so your framerate of 23.976 is correct. However, I'd say that the resolution is a bit small. I'd rip everything with the maximal possible resolution (640x480 for aspect ratio 4:3).
