"In the spring of 1944, the region of Liubao was finally liberated. The local people was moved by the sincerity of the New Fourth Army and cleaned up their doubt and fear. Village Tian Xueying (Er Meizi) and Li Jin (Deputy squad leader) fell in love with each other. Li rescued Er Meizi from the hand of the local despot Liu Huzi (beard Liu), thus strengthened their love.
