Sinopsis momentánea en inglés: In the autumn of 1947, villagers in Qing Shi County, at the bank of the Little River, Shanbei Province, all dogde [sic] the invasion of Hu Zongnan’s troop, leaving the obstinate grandpa’s family. A branch radio team is stationed in grandpa’s yard and set up the antenna for the Captain to direct the communication soldiers in order to search for the Central Communist Party. Grandpa’s family is not allowed to cook in the day time, or it may give away their position. Meanwhile, they try to win grandpa over by any means. In despair, the officer ran to the cellar but was beat to death by grandpa. When the war is over, grandpa sends his beloved son to join the army. When the pretty girl and Lao Ma asked grandpa for help, he said nothing and left quietly. Late at night, the guerrilla forces besiege the yard...
