Descripción momentánea en inglés: Time within Memory is an affecting story about a middle-aged man remembering his childhood and the events leading up to his mother's death. Narushima's approach was generally more classical than those of the New Wave filmmakers he had worked with as a cinematographer, though he occasionally used the avant-garde technique of filming the adult protagonist and his childhood self in the same shot, thus conveying the psychological weight of his past traumas. Through his aspect of the story gave clear expression to Narushima's avowed  interest in Freudian psychology, the film, shot on location on the southern island of Okinoeraubjima, was also, in part, a documentary portrait of the vanishing folk customs of Japan's remotest regions. Though Time within Memory was critically esteemed, Narushima was unable to find funding for other directorial projects.
