“Kimagure Robotto” (Capricious Robot) is comprised of eight 5-minute short films based on short stories by Japanese science fiction author Shinichi Hoshi. The eight films tell the story of a novelist named Mr. N (played by Asano Tadanobu), who purchases a robot named Jiro from The Robot Research Institute to help him around the house after his mother passes away. When Jiro starts malfunctioning and tearing things up N complains to the Institute who sends out a representative, played by Karina, to investigate.
