A woman named Kasumi struggles to establish herself in the male-dominated world of rakugo (comedic story-telling).Kazumi Nakamura (Mimura) has been fascinated by rakugo (comic, usually dirty story-telling) since her uncle took her to a performance as a young girl. When Kazumi graduates from university she joins that master’s rakugo school, but being a girl she is stuck in the job of curtain-raiser and has no hope of ever being taken seriously by her peers. However, another master of rakugo (Masahiko Tsugawa) takes her under his wing.
