In the Korean War, PLA Volunteer Army company commander Fang leads a patrol on a mission to blow up the enemy-held Kangping Highway bridge. They are spotted by a South Korean truck convoy but escape by disguising themselves as Americans. Later, under the guise of a South Korean patrol, they evade the Americans guarding the bridge and get information about the bridge’s structure and defense. With the help of a Korean female guerrilla soldier, they succeed in blowing up the bridge, which cuts off the enemy’s line of retreat and allows the Chinese main force to attack and wipe them out.
