When it comes to teen romance films, Rough boasts a winning line-up. Helmed by NANA director Otani Kentaro, the film is based on a comic by Adachi Mitsuru, the creator of Touch, and Rough features a similar cross-section of high school romance and sports, this time swimming. Fittingly, the film stars popular young actress Nagasawa Masami, who also appeared in the feature film version of Touch, alongside television heartthrob Hayami Mokomichi (Densha Otoko, Rondo). Ishida Takuya (Yoru no Picnic), Abe Tsuyoshi (Until the Lights Come Back), and Ichikawa Yui (NANA 2) also make welcome supporting appearances. High school diver Ami (Nagasawa Masami) and swimmer Keisuke (Hayami Mokomichi) don\'t exactly get along. Their parents run rival sweets shops, and Ami is long-time friends, and maybe more, with Keisuke\'s freestyle rival Hiroki (Abe Tsuyoshi). Over time, however, hostile words give way to hesitant attraction, leaving Ami torn between Keisuke and Hiroki. With the national championship coming up, the young swimmers are competing for more than the title, but also their hearts. Offering a fun twist on the age-old Romeo and Juliet set-up, Rough should please fans of the genre with its photogenic stars, energetic presentation, and wistfully romantic story. At the same time, the film stands out by overcoming genre stereotypes with realistically flawed characters and convincing performances from the film\'s young actors who subtly capture the evolving insecurities of youth.

Vi la película en Febrero y hasta ahora no había encontrado un hueco para traducirlos, pues la exagerada cantidad de notas de traducción que llevaban los subs en inglés me hacían dudar si traducirla o no.

Bonito y agradable gakuen/romance/drama/spokon, con la natación como tema de fondo.

La sigo compartiendo, así que si va mal de fuentes, avisad y subo la prioridad (escrito esto el 9-mayo-2009, no digáis que es mentira que la comparto en el 2012 )
