Violence, comes from within with no reason!

Barda is the next attempt of director Serdar Akar. He has made some remarkable films like "Gemide" (On Board) and "Dar Alanda Kisa Paslasmalar". With his new step, he tries to bring forth the violence in the Turkish society.

A group of young and gonna-be part of high society friends, gather at a bar they frequently visit. One night, some guys looking awfully scary and dangerous enters and these two classes known to live together on the streets are left to fight trapped in a bar...

The violence is everywhere in Turkey as well as the world, in the streets, in the metro, at the schools etc. but this somehow seems to be unseen by the Turkish cinema. Because, people would love to sleep and think that everything's going fine as long as the tragedy doesn't touch them. But that's not true at all. The truth is out there, in this film. Although it has some major negative sides, it's a brave step trying to show the reality...

Based upon our lifes, what's happening is horrible, unbelievable and unacceptable. But you gotta see it to get to do something about it..

Nail, Nil, TGG, Aynur, Aliş; Sevgi, Pelin and Cenk are a group of friends between the ages of 18-25. They lead happy and contented lives. They may have their problems, but they are committed to enjoying life’s pleasures. These young people, whose hopes of marriage, graduation or a better life, suddenly find themselves in the middle of an unspeakable violence, and their lives are destroyed.

One night, while finishing one last beer and about to leave their friend’s bar, they are held captive at gunpoint by five strangers. With their mouths, hands, and feet tied, they get beaten and raped until the next morning. The people who captured them have no clear reason. They just want to punish these young people for everything left incomplete in their lives.

The violence ends when Pelin escapes and calls the police, but nothing will be the same for those who faced the violence or the ones who carried it out.

So, what should be the punishment for such a crime?

In comes the prosecutor for the case. He has such strong sense of justice that no matter what the laws says there can only one punishment for the crime: Death…

En fin, nuevo Imprescindible que tengo que poner a una película turca.
Tremendo el giro que toman los acontecimientos, se cuela en un drama juvenil unos criminales y como dicen por ahí, la lían parda.

Además una de las chicas es la protagonista de Issiz Adam (Melis Birkan), y también sale el protagonista de Okuz (si lees esto Racso, sale el prota de tu película "favorita" ).

Y por cierto, me pongo a traducirla. Sí, otra película turca que le interesará sólo a un par de personas, que voy a hacer, no puedo evitarlo.

Como fan del cine turco comtemporáneo, no puedo por menos que decir que me ha gustado mucho, claro, pero es que me parece genial como ha llevado el director la mayoría de los aspectos de la película.
Para empezar, creo que es una de las primeras películas que veo con juicio incluído, en que la parte del juicio no es aburrida, y es que no es al final de la película como suele ocurrir, sino que más bien los hechos ocurridos son una especie de gran flashback entre el que se intercala el juicio, con lo que tenemos una gran parte de la película con el angustioso incidente, pero a la vez vemos como va avanzando la justicia.
El tema de los flashback es bien curioso, ya que hacia el final se ven un par cosas del futuro o que pasaron antes de empezar, en una especie de piezas de puzzle que faltaban que a mí me ha parecido que han completado estupendamente algunas dudas.

Ah, es verdad... ha sido una de las tres películas como poco que más insultos, juramentos, groserías he tenido que traducir por línea, así que disculpad el lenguaje utilizado, yo sólo he puesto lo que decían los matones.
