Director Park Jin-pyo’s 2005 film ``You Are My Sunshine’’ was the most successful melodrama in history, selling over 3 million tickets.

The seemingly trite tearjerker obtained credibility because it was based on the true story of a man who loves a woman with AIDS. The director’s fictional account gave viewers a chance to explore the hidden sides of the story.

The film, ``Voice of a Murderer,’’ was inspired by a 1991 kidnapping. It remains too faithful to the horrific crime, coming across more like a long reconstructed television crime docudrama. The only difference is that some of Korea’s biggest stars are cast in the leading roles. In the film, Han Kyong-bae (played by Seol Gyeong-gu) is a successful television news anchor whose peaceful life with his wife, Oh Ji-son (Kim Nam-ju), is crudely interrupted when their 9-year-old son is kidnapped.

Kyong-bae believes that everything will be fine and he will see his son again once he pays 100 million won in ransom. But as soon as the police get involved in solving the case, things don’t go as planned. A bunch of clumsy detectives promise the desperate parents the safe return of their son, but the kidnapper effortlessly outwits the police. One of the detectives is even kidnapped by the criminal.

The kidnapper calls the parents more than 40 times asking, in his cold and emotionless voice, for more money. But after 44 days, the son is found dead on the banks of the Han River. He was killed two days after the kidnapping. The police have a voice recording, hand-written notes from the kidnapper and a description of his face. But the wanted man disappears.

One day, the only son of famous news anchor, HAN Kyung-bae, disappeared without a trace. Soon, the kidnapper calls the nine-year-old boy’s mother, OH Jisun, demanding $100,000 as ransom. The police assign veteran detective KIM Wook-jung to the case and assemble a top-notch task force under his command. However, the kidnapper constantly outwits the police traps and keeps calling the parents with yet another instruction for the money drop.

The only clue the police and the parents have is the kidnapper’s voice recorded on the tape; his cultured, but emotionless voice, which often gives anyone who listens goose bumps. The parents become restless and angry as days turns into weeks, and one day, when the kidnapper calls HAN Kyung-bae with another set of instructions, he turns the situation completely around and demands a direct confrontation. He starts giving instructions to the kidnapper, and…

Esta pelicula el director Park Jin-pyo (You are my sunshine) se ha basado en un secuestro real que paso en el año 1991.
tambien aqui encontraremos al actor conocido Seol Kyeong-gu que lo hemos visto ya en
Silmido, Lost in love, Public enemy, Oasis entre otras.

Muy esperada esta película, el actor es un genio... y les confieso que me pueden mucho las "basadas en hecho real".

Por Dios pero si acaba de salir, dudo que de momento haya subs muy pronto ni para inglés.
La paciencia es lo mejor, al final todo acaba saliendo.

Con que la película sea la mitad de buena que "You Are My Sunshine" ya será un peliculón, así que esta cae fijo.
