The Chinese title for this entertaining romantic drama is "Destiny", which is fitting because it features remarkable new talent whose destiny was to become some of Hong Kong's most important filmmakers. There then 20-year-old Miss Hong Kong Pageant first runner-up Maggie Cheung. There's Leslie Cheung, before he became an award-winning singer/actor icon. There's Anita Mui ("The Chinese Madonna"), who won the Hong Kong Film Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance. And there's co-scripter Gordon Chan, destined to become a top writer/director.

No, no pillan ese codec... Pero es que tampoco pillan esa resolución... Y el mío es la mitad de tamaño que este además, lo cual para 92 minutos tampoco es una locura...

Synopsis: On the way to his first day of work, young civil servant Paul (Leslie Cheung) encounters two very different women on the subway: girl-next-door Monica (Maggie Cheung) who recently ended a painful affair with a married man and the sassy and wealthy Anita (Anita Mui) who takes an immediate liking to Paul. Late era Shaw Bros film starring three future Hong Kong superstars. Good for stargazing and "Wow, they look so young!" commentary, but otherwise, Behind The Yellow Line is a silly, empty film. -- Calvin McMillin

Truth be told, if you approach it with the right state of mind, this film could be quite a pleasurable experience. It is charmingly naïve, engaging, and I must admit, rather nostalgic. It certainly brings memories from a time when B-movies had a type of energy one would have a difficult time proving modern cable productions can replicate. Yes, most every scene here is painfully transparent, but it is also charged with an irresistible charm, one that will surely put a smile or two on the faces of many grown-ups who more than twenty years ago dreamed big, got drunk, and occasionally found time to fall in love. -- Dr. Svet Atanasov

Me olvidé de incluir un dato. Como para completar aún más al equipo de futuras estrellas: uno de los co-guionistas de esta película fue Gordon Chan!

La película no es ni más ni menos que una "comedia romántica hongkonesa de los 80s". Quienes gusten de esto pasarán un buen rato. El adicional es ir descubriendo a esas futuras estrellas.

Yo ya la he puesto a bajar. Muchas gracias, elguaxo. La tengo en el punto de mira desde hace ya tiempo y ahora será una muy buena ocasión para verla. Taylor Wong no es cualquier tipo. Merodeaba ya por los últimos tiempos de la Shaw y tiene en su haber películas importantes como Rich and famous y Tragic hero, además de Sentenced to hang. Si a eso le sumamos el reparto, y esos detalles que señalas, como Gordon Chan, no hay que perdérsela.
