the most shocking Turkish movie ever Ugur Yucel,the giant movie star of Turkish cinema, is very successful in his directorial debut.In his movie,he has very impressively described the different and dramatical stories of two men who had been wounded in the war lasting for nearly 20 years at Southeast region of Turkey.This movie must be accepted as the first movie based on this terrible conflict.This war has affected every individual living in Turkey and everybody have something to say on this war.So in my opinion, Yucel has filled the biggest gap in Turkish cinema with this brilliant movie.Olgun Simsek is acting wonderfully and showing his linguistic ability especially when he is talking in Middle Anatolian accent. I wish many more people to watch this movie and the movie gets all the credits that it deserves..

A good example of Turkish cinema. Winner of many regional awards, it is one of the best and very modern movied of the Turkish cinema. After long years of being trapped in the popular and easy way of film-making, finally movies with artistic values are being released. Shot with a digital camera, the movie has very interesting visual effects.(a bit exaggurated and a bit experimental perhaps) the story is based on the lives of two friends which are totally different from each other. the movie contains a lot of cultural aspects which makes it impossible to be considered as an international movie. however, as i said before, the movie itself is a very solid proof that the standards of the Turkish cinema is rising.

Yazı Tura (Toss Up) melds the stories of two tragedies through the experiences of two young men, “Rıdvan the Devil,” a soccer player from Göreme, and “Cevher the Ghost,” a young man who is living with his father in Istanbul. After serving together in the army in Eastern Anatolia in 1999, both men return to their civilian lives. Rıdvan has lost his right leg, while Cevher has lost the ability to hear in his right ear after the explosion of a mine. In his first feature film, Yücel has created a story that will haunt audiences for days after leaving the theater. Yücel’s deliberate attempt to disturb the audience and his avoidance of conventional storytelling techniques result in a fresh narrative that signals the emergence of a new auteur in Turkish cinema.
