Jersey (Nick Cheung Ka Fai) aspires to be the greatest gambler he can be. Being both cunning and possessing incredible fighting skills, he has all the attributes and appears to have reached the pinnacle of his profession after winning a pool match against his top competition. After learning about the heroic story of "Cool" a gambling king in Japan, he jets off to Tokyo with his girlfriend (Christy Chung Lai-Tai). They end up in a restaurant where they encounter the owner (Louis Koo Tin Lok), who deftly defends himself against local gangsters. Jersey recognizes the owner's fighting skills of the legendary Cool. The retired gambler tells him about his girlfriend Karen who is was injured in a shooting accident involving his traitorous gambling buddy Yeung Kwong and his enemy. The plot of Conman in Tokyo is easier to follow, than write about, but basically it tells a story about power of money and love, with a lot of silly comedy thrown in. The action sequences are quite good.
