Pleasing instrumental sounds are interwoven with the emotional true story of a trumpet player whose life is given new meaning after he takes up the responsibility as teacher of a provincial middle school orchestra. The fact that no opening is available for a professional trumpet player leads Hyon-woo's (Choi Min-sik) life into an eventual dead end. As if that was not bad enough, he is getting nowhere in his attempts to re-establish the relationship he once shared with his ex-girlfriend. Driven by despair he finally leaves Seoul to build up his life anew as teacher of a small town middle school brass band. Discovering hope and inspiration within his new job and surroundings, Hyon-woo's life is suddenly filled with new purpose through his encounter with adorable pharmacist Soo-yon (Jang Shin-young) and one of his unique students.
