The day she is transferred to a girls' boarding school, Maggi finds an enemy in Cindy, the rich, beautiful, and unruly schoolgirl who revels in bullying other students. Maggi and her roommate Yui decide to get back at her, and what better occasion for pulling pranks than the inter-school prom? The 1986 Hong Kong teen comedy Sweet Sixteen introduces a bunch of young actors and newcomers, among them include Maggi Ng from Yonfan's A Certain Romance, Cindy Lau, Sara Lee, and Kenny Ho as the handsome romantic interest, while Billy Lau, Charlie Cho, Brenda Lo, and So Hang Suen form the main teaching staff. Directed by Kenneth Siao (an assistant director of Fearless) and presented by Frankie Chan, the movie serves up a delectable slice of 80's Hong Kong cinema vibrancy, and is notably lensed by Oscar-winning cinematographer Peter Pau (Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) at the beginning of his career.
