In 1978, director Yuen Woo-ping and star Jackie Chan revolutionized the kung-fu film with Drunken Master. Dozens of similar films followed by seemingly every production company…except Shaw Studios. They were used to being leaders, not followers. But soon popular demand dictated that they at least try a variation on that landmark hit. So, working from a script by the incredibly prolific Szutu An, they created their own “Drunken Master” – producing a unique treat: a sumptuous Shawscope action adventure in the “Jackie Chan style.”
