Sinopsis momentánea en inglés: Beautiful Duckling tells the story of Xiaoyue, a girl adopted by her neighbor as a baby after her parents died suddenly. Her life as a young woman seems idyllic, living with her adopted father on a successful duck farm in rural Taiwan. One day, a young good-for-nothing Taiwanese opera actor comes by her house demanding from her father blackmail payments to keep the secret of her adoption. As her father becomes more desperate to keep the secret safe, it threatens to tear apart their happy life, and ruin the entire family.
